LIMA — The University of Northwestern Ohio men pushed 21st-ranked Indiana Tech throughout the night but came up short in a 98-88 loss on Thursday at the Garage.
Antonio King opened the game with a quick drive to the basket off the opening tip, scoring the first points of the night on his way to a game-high 22. Midway through the first half, Alex Benson knocked down a three off a drive-and-kick action to extend the Racers’ lead to 21-15.
King added another highlight just before halftime, burying a deep three at the buzzer that brought the crowd to its feet. UNOH still trailed 47-45 at the break.
Indiana Tech built a 56-47 advantage early in the second half before Ajani Washington answered with a ball fake and floater to cut the margin to seven. Washington later found Caleb Chapman with a cross-court pass for a three that kept the Racers within reach.
UNOH stayed close into the final minutes, but the Warriors maintained enough separation to secure the win.
