LIBERTY CENTER, Ohio (WLIO) — Liberty Center remained undefeated Friday night with a commanding 35-6 victory over Patrick Henry in a Northwest Ohio Athletic League clash between two top-ranked teams.
The Tigers broke the game open in the third quarter when Thomas Mohler converted a crucial third-and-long with a powerful 25-yard run that kept the drive alive.
On fourth-and-goal moments later, Garrison Kruse took the toss, found a seam, and plunged into the end zone to put Liberty Center up 27-0. Patrick Henry, also 5-0 entering the game, managed to get on the board late in the third quarter when Cal Schroeder punched it in on a direct snap, cutting the deficit to 27-6.
However, the Patriots were unable to mount a comeback against a dominant Liberty Center defense.
Liberty Center (6-0, 3-0 NOAL) looks poised to continue its strong season as it battles for league supremacy, while Patrick Henry (5-1, 2-1 NOAL) will regroup and aim to get back on track in coming weeks.
