ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Samson Combs, the therapy dog, spent his day visiting and bringing smiles to the Allen County commissioners' office staff.
The 200-pound Saint Bernard is a retired champion show dog. He now works for pet handlers as a therapy dog, visiting schools, universities, hospitals, and other places where he tends to put people in a better mood. The nine-year-old pup is known for his calm demeanor and lovable personality, which had a soothing effect on the county commissioners' staff during his visit this afternoon.
"We were invited here for a little stress relief; that's what we do. We go to area places, and commissioners absolutely loved him for a little guy. It's just a break in the day; it gives them five minutes to take a breath and then go about their day, and usually, it's more productive after that," commented David Hefner, handler for Pet Partners.
