Aaron Rex hired as Wapakoneta's new superintendent

Wapakoneta School Board has picked their next superintendent and he is someone that is already familiar with the district.

The board voted Tuesday night to hire Aaron Rex to lead the school district. Rex started his teaching career at Wapak and then was principal of the high school for 7 years, before leaving in the winter of 2013 to become the Superintendent of Archbold. Rex is happy to return home and is ready to hit the ground running with the student and the teachers in the district.

“The thing I told the board that I am most proud of in my career, is that every kid knows my name in my district. That is what I want to do here. I want every student to know who I am, I want every teacher to know that I am going to be in their classroom and I just going to build those relationships in the beginning. And then find out what people thinks works really well, what people like about Wapakoneta City Schools and what can we do to push forward,” said Aaron Rex, Wapakoneta’s New Superintendent.

Rex will officially take over as superintendent in August, Rex is replacing Keith Horner who is moving to Apollo this summer to take over the superintendent job there.
