ADA, OH (WLIO) -Â The Village of Ada celebrated the upcoming NFL season and their hometown's own contribution to the sport.Â
The festival is a celebration of everything Wilson brings to Ada.
The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, Wilson, and other local businesses partnered for the 8th annual Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival on Saturday. Free entertainment included live bands, the Ada and ONU cheer squads, and the ONU marching band. There were also plenty of football-themed giveaways, ranging from decorative pillows to autographed memorabilia.Â
The night always ends with a New Year's-style football drop, where a giant football is lowered from a crane. The festival is a celebration of everything Wilson brings to Ada: jobs, donations to local youth sports, and the hometown pride that comes with being the source of Wilson footballs.

"It just makes Ada unique. It puts us on the map. I say it makes us Football Town, U.S.A. Nobody else can say that every ball that is played with in the NFL is handmade in their hometown. So by God, we're going to throw a celebration to celebrate not only the factory; we're going to celebrate the people, and we're going to celebrate the community that supports the factory that's here in town," said Lindsay Hollar, the president of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce.Â
In honor of Cade Wenning, who passed away this past Thursday nearly two weeks after a bike accident, the proceeds from this year's Kids Endzone activities will be donated to the Coldwater Football team.
