As part of the scenario, responders conducted a staged press conference to simulate communicating critical information to the public and the media in real-time.

"We have we test our plans every year, we update our plans, and just make sure that we are well aware of them, well practiced with them, in order to respond if there was a any sort of chemical incident or anything else that would open up an emergency operation center," said Jared Gesler, Allen County Homeland Security & Emergency Management director.

Gesler said the drill helps agencies stay on the same page and keep track of important information during an emergency.
