LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - Lima's Crossroads Crisis Center calling attention to the victims of domestic violence with their annual candlelight vigil Thursday night.

This was the 30th year people joined together for the event; in memory of those who lost their lives due to domestic violence.  Organizers say it's also a time to give support to those people who work to end domestic violence.  During the vigil, candles were lit and the names of those who were lost to violence were read aloud, often by family members. It’s a chance for the community to see just how far domestic violence reaches.

Crossroads Outreach coordinator Olivis DePalma says there are still many people who suffer, but do not come forward looking for help.  She says it’s oftentimes, because the victims don't think anyone will believe them. Crossroads Crisis Center is available to provide help for anyone who has left, or is trying to leave, an abusive domestic relationship.
