SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP, ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) – Car, truck and motorcycle enthusiasts from around the area came together to show off their vehicles and support local charities.

This year marked the 18th annual Charity Car Show. Thanks to sunny weather, a couple of hundred cars, trucks, and motorcycles were on display at Apollo Career Center. There was everything from restored classic cars to tricked-out rides and eye-popping paint jobs for people to admire. The top vehicles took home trophies. In addition to the entry fees, organizers raised more funds through 50-50 and raffle drawings, all to benefit a number of charitable organizations.

“All these people love to do that. They love to hang out together, but they love to contribute back into the area for everything that's local here, for the community, it's a lot of work, but it is fun. In the end, the rewards are worth it. It's a good time. We're going to raise good money for charity today,” says John Waller, Charity Car Show.

After the event, the board will meet to decide which charities will receive the donations. Last year’s recipients included the Veterans Food Pantry, Crossroads Crisis Center, and the Allen County Council on Aging.
