LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The community came out to support the Area Agency on Aging 3. The Silver Birch Foundation, which raises funds for the agency, held its seventh annual dinner and auction Thursday evening.
"We typically use these funds to meet the needs of individuals who have been victimized or exploited."
There was both a live and silent auction that attendees could bid on. Many items were up for grabs, including jewelry, sports memorabilia, and multiple different trips. The funds raised will help the agency carry out its mission of helping seniors and family caregivers.
"We typically use these funds to meet the needs of individuals who have been victimized or exploited. There's a lot of scams going on out there, so when people fall into financial despair, we're able to help them pay their rent, pay their utilities, take care of themselves," said Jacqi Lucke, CEO with the Area Agency on Aging 3.
