LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Easter weekend calls for creativity, and at Shawnee Station in Lima, attendees were able to paint their very own Easter bunny.

One day before Easter, locals signed up to paint an Easter bunny from scratch. From beginners to experienced artists, everyone in the class followed step-by-step instructions to bring a colorful bunny to life on their canvas. Organizers say events like this bring friends and families together, as well as having a relaxing time before the holiday. Just in time for Easter, each attendee left with a handmade decoration to display.

Easter creativity blooms at Shawnee Station with festive bunny painting event

"Growing up, there weren’t a lot of art classes, and I was an art major in college. And so it's kind of fun just to be able to bring art out to people, especially in an environment like this, because they're painting, they're eating, they're drinking, everyone's having fun," says Alicia Rubin, the painting instructor, Shawnee Station.

She adds that the calm and relaxing atmosphere gives the artists less pressure, and more creativity to bring life onto a canvas.
