LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — While an official opening date has yet to be announced, enthusiasm continues to build for the new Lima Community Aquatic Park.

Excitement builds for Lima Community Aquatic Park as endowment fund nears goal

Frazier emphasized that every donation counts, regardless of size, for those who want to support the park’s future.

Robin Frazier, executive director of the Lima Community Foundation, recently updated local business leaders on the progress of the Lima Community Aquatic Park Endowment Fund.

The park’s construction was funded through federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars, but its long-term management and maintenance will be supported by the endowment fund. A $5 million goal was set for the fund, and it is currently about 82% of the way there.

“That money is invested and then it has the opportunity to grow,” Frazier said. “So it's not going to stay at $5 million. It's going to continue to grow, and we will be able to use a portion of that each year to help with all of the operating expenses.”

Frazier emphasized that every donation counts, regardless of size, for those who want to support the park’s future.

The City of Lima plans to hold a ceremonial event once the official opening date of the aquatic park is determined.
