Healthy Families Expo draws hundreds for holiday fun and wellness resources

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Hundreds gathered Saturday to kick off a healthy and happy holiday season at the 2025 Healthy Families Expo.

The event, presented by Activate Allen County and Mercy Health, featured festive activities including a visit with Santa and his live reindeer, face painting and a bounce house. Superheroes were also on hand to take photos with attendees.

While children enjoyed the holiday fun, parents had the opportunity to explore more than 35 agencies and organizations offering information on community resources and free health screenings.

“There’s lots of resources available to families that they can tap into. So, it's great way to kind of get that information help them learn about what potentially needs they have and how they can meet those needs. We have health screenings. We have Help Me Grow and home visiting and mental health resources all here available. So, if there's a need, we hope we can meet that, but also we want to have a lot of fun. So, we do that with the bounce house and the face painting and Santa and everything being free is just a great way for families to really enjoy the holiday season," said Kayla Monfort, director of Activate Allen County.

Families were also able to sign up for a chance to win several raffle items.

This year marked the eighth Healthy Families Expo.
