LIMA, OH (WLIO) -Â Spartan Stadium was packed as iHeart held its annual Easter egg hunt over the weekend, drawing families from across the community.
Three different age groups had their opportunity to collect as many eggs as they could. The first 1,000 kids received free bags, and more than 20,000 candy and prize-filled eggs were scattered across the field for children to grab.
In addition to the hunt, the event featured coloring activities, train rides and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny.
"There's so many events in the community that are for adults, and we thought the kids need to have their fun too. The fact that it's a safe environment, Nutrien is a great partner, they do great things for the community. The fact that 20,000 eggs all prize filled, it's amazing. I think the kids enjoy being around other kids their age, having fun, and each age group is broken down to keep it safe. I think they love looking for eggs with other kids. To the parents, we apologize for the sugar rush," said JB in the Morning with Lima's Country T102.
The grand prize of the event was a trip for four to Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
