LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima city school recognizes some of their staff that go above and beyond in the district. One staff member from each of the school buildings was nominated by their peers for the "Outstanding 11" award. The award began after a visit from Ron Clark, a nationally-renowned educator and author of "The Excellent 11” around 14 years ago. Clark highlights eleven qualities that an amazing educator possesses to provide motivation and a high-quality education to children. The award winners exhibit these qualities, which include enthusiasm, adventure, creativity, reflection, balance, compassion, confidence, humor, common sense, appreciation, and resilience. Lima City schools have recognized over 100 educators over the years for their dedication to their students.
“Out teachers obviously work very, very hard and when you are here at Lima City Schools that means you deeply care about the kids, and the families, and the community that you are serving,” says Superintendent Jill Ackerman. “We feel it is important to recognize teachers each year and I think that recognition is important. That people need to know the work they are doing day in day out does not go unnoticed and they are making a difference in the lives of our kids.”
