LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Lima City Schools recognized families who go the extra mile to support their children and others throughout the district. This marks the third year the district has presented its Family of the Year awards.
These families don’t just show up, they invest their time, energy and hearts into making a difference and building a stronger school for everyone.
Each school building selects one family that is actively involved in their child’s education and partners closely with the school to support the success of all students and staff. These families don’t just show up, they invest their time, energy and hearts into making a difference and building a stronger school for everyone.
“These are families that have really gone above and beyond. We know we can always count on them for some of the extra things that we need to have done, and they're just always there no matter what, to support their child. Make sure that their child has everything for school. Make sure that they're reinforcing all the skills at home with their child, and they're just, they're just kind of doing that a little bit of extra that makes them stand out from everybody else,” says Jill Ackerman, Superintendent, Lima City Schools.
