Officials from the food bank are thrilled to see the local youth putting in such outstanding effort to raise money for a good cause.

As part of their year long fundraiser, the Self-Builders Club at South donated a $500 check to the West Ohio Food Bank. The check was raised through a candy-gram fundraiser from the students as well as funds raised from Cenovus. Officials from the food bank are thrilled to see the local youth putting in such outstanding effort to raise money for a good cause.

"It means so much more to me, just because it comes from the kids," said Wayne Steed, chief operating officer for West Ohio Food Bank. "They're out in our community, they're volunteering, they're raising money, then they donate it back to us, the West Ohio Food Bank, which just puts meals right back on the table in the community. It's a really special thing."

The Self-Builders Club at South raised a total of over $2,000 this school year.
