LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Local music students getting a glimpse into what their future can have in store for them from an industry professional.
Lima Symphony Orchestra music director Andrew Crust met with the the Tri-M Music Honor Society at ArtSpace/Lima for a luncheon. It was an opportunity for students from Elida, Shawnee and Lima Senior to ask questions about subjects like careers lie ahead for them after school and what being a performing arts major in college is like. For Crust, being able to lend his expertise and share experiences with these future musicians is something he knows he would've enjoyed when he was in their shoes.
"It's really inspiring to see their passion and their excitement, they had so many questions, and it was exactly like me when I was that age," said Crust. "So much excitement, but not a lot of practical knowledge, and so I was just trying to share with them a little bit of what to expect and what goes into getting into that world. It's great to see young people who are not jaded, and they're just really excited about the future."
You can check out Crust and the Lima Symphony Orchestra on stage this weekend as they perform their Gershwin and the American Sound concert on Satuday, April 5th at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center at 7:30 p.m.
