LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Summer in Lima wouldn’t be complete without the long-standing tradition of the Lincoln Park Dances. Now in its 83rd year, the event continues to bring live music and community spirit to families across the region.
Held every Friday night during the summer, the dances feature eight different bands playing a variety of music genres, including classic rock, Motown, country, and more. Whether you enjoy dancing or simply listening to live music, Lincoln Park is the place to be. Organizers say the event offers more than just music.

“We have a free raffle where Kewpee gives us hamburgers and pies,” said Michael Skinner, a volunteer with Lincoln Park Dances. “Other businesses provide us with things. The senior center is providing — one week — two tickets to La Comedia. So there’s a lot of neat things that we’ll be doing this summer there.”
Each weekly dance also includes light refreshments and community raffles, adding to the festive atmosphere. The first dance of the season is set for June 6, featuring The Exploit Trio. The full summer schedule can be found on the Lincoln Park Dances Facebook page. Lincoln Park is located on Shawnee Street behind Lima Memorial Health System. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.
