Financial experts say many teens struggle with understanding debt, managing money and building credit. Organizer from NABCJ say their program aims to provide students with practical tools to help them establish long-term financial stability.

“So, I think if we give them a good foundation that they can start on, then they can build on that, and then they can start budgeting. And, when they go to college, there's sometimes not a whole lot of money. So, to learn to balance that. I really hope that they get the importance of money, how to use it correctly and build on it and then build futures for themselves and their families,” says Suzette Clemons, Chair of the NABCJ Lima Affiliate.

The financial literacy course runs for three weeks and focuses on budgeting, debt solutions and investing.
