LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Looking for a creative way to keep kids busy after school? ArtSpace Lima is launching a new program to do just that.
The “After School Art” program is designed for children ages 7 to 14 and will provide high-quality art instruction along with open studio exploration. Participants will have the opportunity to draw, paint, sculpt and work with mixed media.

“These classes are more than just an art class,” said Sally Windle, executive director of ArtSpace Lima. “A lot of times we’ll incorporate other things, like problem-solving skills and creative thinking skills. We’re going to include that as well as doing some fun activities. They’ll also be writing. We’ve had the poet laureate here, so we’re going to try to give them a full gamut of creative things to do.”
Classes begin Sept. 9 and will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at ArtSpace Lima. The cost is $5 per student per day, and spaces are filling quickly. Parents can contact ArtSpace Lima at (419) 222-1721 to register.
