LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The president of Ohio State University has unveiled a 10-year plan that includes new opportunities for future Buckeyes attending the Lima campus.
During his second State of the University address, Dr. Ted Carter outlined his long-term plan, which includes investments in different colleges, creating a center to coordinate paid internships for all undergraduate students, and making the university more veteran-friendly.

Helping veterans pursue higher education aligns with Ohio State Lima’s recent announcement of its online associate degree programs, which provide flexibility for families. Starting in fall 2026, eligible students could also have their tuition and fees covered when they move from the Lima campus to Columbus.
“So, students already have the benefit of a slightly reduced tuition rate on a regional campus. What this new program does is extends that to include both the regional campus and the Columbus campus. So, for those students who need to transition to the Columbus campus to complete their major, they're going to be able to take advantage of that incredible investment by the president when they matriculate to Columbus as well," said Dr. Margaret Young, dean of Ohio State Lima.
Young said students can start applying now for the fall 2026 session.
