LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The investigation continues into a Friday night shooting that injured a Lima police officer and a suspect.
According to city officials, the officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of St. Johns Avenue and Second Street just before 11 p.m. Shots were fired from the vehicle, and the officer returned fire. Both the suspect and the officer were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. As of Saturday morning, both were reported to be in stable condition.
No names have been released at this time. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is handling the investigation. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
