LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — As many Americans continue to adjust to life after the COVID-19 pandemic, the Center for Peace and Reconciliation is hosting a mental health panel discussion to address the ongoing challenges people face.

The event, titled "Good Mental Health," will feature three guest speakers who work directly with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. The panel is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, at 7 p.m. at the Center’s facility on South Pierce Street. It is free and open to the public.

“The World Health Organization has indicated that there's been an increase of 23% in anxiety since the pandemic, and 28% in depression,” said John Foster of the Center for Peace and Reconciliation. “Mental health is an issue. It's an issue that we need to talk about. In the past, it’s been under the carpet—kind of hidden—but now it should be at the forefront.”

Organizers hope the discussion will raise awareness, reduce stigma, and connect people with helpful resources as the community continues to heal and move forward.
