SPENCERVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) - Spencerville officially kicked off summer with their annual Summerfest, now in its 31st year.

Broadway Street was shut down and transformed into a hub of activity, filled with carnival rides, games, competitions, and live music. Other highlights throughout the weekend included a car and tractor cruise-in, a parade, and a grand fireworks show. With three full days of events, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

"Every year, we just try to make sure we have enough for every age group to enjoy. We've got little rides, big rides, lots of different food vendors. We have the entertainment tent with rock bands and country bands, a wide variety to please everybody," said Ashley Wiechart, president of the Summerfest's committee. "I honestly, truly say every year that I'm exhausted, that this is my last year. Then I go forth and I do it again, and when I get it all set up and we see everybody enjoying everything, it just makes it worth it. Makes all the time and effort that we put into it truly worth it," said Wiechart.
