It was an extra emotional year for the committee, having to carry on with the festival even without their friend, but they say it’s always worth it seeing the community come together.
After getting approval from the Allen County Health Department, the Summerfest Committee will host their fireworks show this weekend, in partnership with the Spencerville Chamber of Commerce. Since they were unable to do much fundraising this year, the committee reached out to local businesses for help. It was then that the village’s American Legion and VFW Bowersock Brother Post 6772 donated enough to fully pay for the fireworks display.
The St. Marys community looks forward to rounding our their summer each year with everything Summerfest has to offer. The four-day-long event has something for the whole family and gives them a reason to visit the downtown area and see what’s happening in St. Marys.
