LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — It only takes the right spark to ignite a lightbulb moment that could shape a child’s future. That is what The Hub hopes to accomplish with its monthly Lightbulb Lab series, beginning Saturday, Dec. 6, and running alongside the Downtown Holiday Festival.
The event is open to children in kindergarten through fourth grade. By introducing young students to a variety of professions, organizers aim to create those inspirational moments when kids discover something they may want to pursue later in life.
The first Lightbulb Lab will focus on the great outdoors.
“This event on December 6 is going to be environmental based slash earth sciences, so looking at worms, looking at hibernation, looking at interactions between different species, the water cycle, and then also just some take home stuff that people can bring if they don't want to stick around, or they can't stick around because they want to get over to the holiday event see what else is going on,” says Lydia Archambo, Allen Soil and Water Conservation District.
