AMERICAN TWP., Ohio (WLIO) — Two people were killed in a morning crash on SR 115 near U.S. 30, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said.

Troopers identified the victims as Sean Triplett, 40, of Kentucky, and Joann Kahle, 60, of Ft. Jennings. The crash involved four vehicles. Troopers said the crash happened around 8:30 a.m. when Triplett was heading north on SR 115 and went left of center, striking Morgan Krouse, 24, of Kalida, who was in the southbound lane. Her SUV was then forced left of center and hit Thora George, 30, of Lima.

Triplett continued in the wrong lane and struck Kahle’s vehicle, which was forced off the road. Both Kahle and Triplett were pronounced dead at the scene. Krouse and George were treated at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

American Township – On September 10, 2025, at approximately 08:33 A.M., the Lima Post of The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a report of a f our-vehicle crash on State Route 115, near US 30 in American Township, Allen County.

Sean Triplett, age 40, of Florence Kentucky, was operating a 2009 Toyota Avalon north bound on State Route 115. Triplett drove left of center and struck a southbound 2025 Chevrolet Equinox, operated by Morgan Krouse, age 24, of Kalida. Triplett continued in the wrong of lane of travel and struck a southbound 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, operated by Joann Kahle, age 60, of Fort Jennings. Kahle was forced off the right side of the roadway.

Krouse was forced left of center and struck a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, operated by Thora George, age 30, of Lima.  Triplett and Kahle were both pronounced deceased at the scene. Triplett was not wearing a safety belt. Krouse and George were both treated and released from the scene with possible injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on -scene by; Allen County Coroner’s Office, Allen Mortuary Services, American Township Fire and EMS, American Township Police Department, Lima Fire Department, Able Wrecker Service, Knippen Chrysler Dodge Jeep, and Kenny’s Auto Kare.

The crash remains under investigation.
