On Saturday morning the Lima community came together for some fun and to help those who are battling heart disease. The American Heart Association and Mercy Health teamed up again this year for the Lima HeartChase.
Throughout the morning teams completed a number of games. Four square, an obstacle course, and a tossing game were just some of the activities.
This event is held every year to not only raise money for the American Heart Association but to encourage adults and the youth to become more active.
“The earlier we can get those future generation, which we have a lot of young children here today, to get involved and understand just how important it is to live a healthy lifestyle,” said Dave Frost, the event chairman.
Over $63,000 dollars has been raised from HeartChase so far this year. The American Heart Association is looking to raise $37,000 more to reach their goal. You can donate at www2.heart.org.
