Antenna Hits Power Lines, Sets Home on Fire

A fire damages a Lima home and temporarily knocks out power for 91 residents.

It happened at a home in the 1100 block of North Street.

Lima police say the homeowner put an ad on craigslist asking for someone to come out and remove an old TV antenna from his property.

An individual responded to the ad and in the process of cutting down the antenna, something went very wrong, with the tower hitting power lines.

Fire officials were investigating the extent of the damage.

Lima police say the person who tried to cut down the antenna will be liable for damages.
