COLUMBUS (WLIO) — The first Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association state polls of the season are out, and west central Ohio is well-represented across Divisions V, VI and VII.
In Division V, Versailles debuted at No. 7 and picked up a first-place vote. Liberty-Benton landed at No. 15, while Ottawa-Glandorf opened at No. 18.
Division VI is dominated by area programs, with New Bremen at No. 1 and Parkway close behind at No. 2. The Panthers actually earned one more first-place vote, but the Cardinals claimed the top spot with more overall points. Tinora, Coldwater — last year’s state champion — and St. Henry all sit inside the top 10. Patrick Henry ranks No. 10, while Marion Local (18) and Minster (20) round out the Division VI presence.
Division VII also features several familiar names. Leipsic ranks No. 2 behind top-ranked Tiffin Calvert, while defending state champion Fort Loramie is at No. 3. Russia, New Knoxville and Miller City all hold top-10 positions, Kalida sits just outside at No. 11, and Ayersville (13) and Ottoville (17) are also in the rankings.
The strong representation across divisions highlights the continued strength of west central Ohio volleyball heading into the fall season.
