LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - An Allen County man found guilty of shooting at law enforcement during a standoff in July of 2023 went before the court for a re-sentencing on Monday.

In the re-sentencing, it was ruled that Carl Mollett will retain the same prison sentence of 52 to 55 and a half years. 49 of those years are mandatory, and the 14-year gun specification will be retained as well. The re-sentencing comes after the Court of Appeals requested additional explanation from Allen County Common Pleas Court.

In July of 2023, US Marshals officers and the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force tried to arrest Mollett on a warrant for gross sexual imposition out of Franklin County. Mollett fired gunshots at officers, but no officers were hit. Allen County SWAT came in to assist until Mollett was arrested.
