The Garden Cafe off Shawnee Road is serving up some buffet style meals. The student run cafe located near the entrance of Apollo Career Center is now open for the school year. It will be open for guests Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For seven dollars, you can enjoy the all-you-can-eat buffet, including dessert and a drink. The culinary instructor says the cafe serves as both a restaurant and a learning experience for the students.
"This is a great opportunity for students who think they might want to go on in the culinary arts or food service hospitality industry. We offer 16 to 18 hours of college credit for this class. The students earn two national certifications, so it's a great 'get your foot in the door' for culinary arts as a professional," the culinary instructor, Carrie Prince, said.
All the money made from the restaurant goes back to help the student club at Apollo.
