Are you over the age of 55, retired, and looking for something to do? The Area Agency on Aging 3 is looking for you.
Through the AmeriCorps Seniors program, the agency is hoping to get some senior volunteers out into the community. There is an umbrella of activities that they can do under the program but they are looking to help other local agencies needing some extra hands.
"Currently, right now, we're boosting to try and get volunteers to go to the food bank with us. The food bank is needing a lot of individuals to do whether they want to prep the senior meal boxes or deliver them. Or whether they want to come in and do office support for them. Or they want to sit and go through produce and cans and everything to check the expiration dates," explained Miranda Von Rooyen, RSVP director of Area Agency on Aging 3
