LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – ArtSpace/Lima Executive Director Sally Windle has been recognized with a statewide honor for her leadership and dedication to the arts.
Windle was named the 2025 Arts Educator Champion in the Creative Ohio Champion Advocacy Awards, held at the Toledo Museum of Art. The annual awards recognize Ohioans who lead and advocate for the arts and creativity in their communities. The Arts Educator Champion Award specifically highlights an individual who has made a significant impact on arts education. Windle shared her reaction after being announced as this year’s winner by Creative Ohio.

“Tremendous as in shocked and humbled. It's the why, and when they were at the luncheon, they had talked about why do you do things, and it's always been here but it's always been a great source of joy and it's always been just a natural part of my life so that places like ArtSpace and even arts in the schools perpetuate the joy but it's also your soul and to have that soul, satisfied with the things that you can do and then be able to invite people to do them with you is always been a big goal," says Sally Windle, Executive Director, ArtSpace/Lima.
Each year, Creative Ohio features a different region of the state when selecting recipients for the Champion Advocacy Awards.
