LEIPSIC, Ohio (WLIO) — After suffering their first loss of the season last week, the Leipsic Vikings responded in dominant fashion Friday night, defeating Arlington 37-6 in a convincing Northwest Conference win.

Leipsic (8-1) wasted little time regaining control of its season. Senior running back Aaron Hazelton found the end zone twice in the first half, including an 8-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter that opened the scoring. The Vikings converted both of their early two-point attempts, jumping out to a 16-0 lead.

Arlington (5-4) struggled to find offensive rhythm, coughing up a fumble in the first quarter that set up one of Leipsic’s quick strikes. Quarterback Mark Kirkendall capitalized, launching a deep touchdown pass to Avery Paris to extend the lead from midfield.

Hazelton added another score from five yards out early in the second quarter as the Vikings continued to dominate both sides of the ball. Leipsic’s defense limited Arlington’s scoring chances throughout the night, allowing just a single touchdown.

The 37-6 final marked a strong rebound for Leipsic, whose undefeated campaign was cut short last week by Liberty-Benton.

With the win, the Vikings solidify their position near the top of the regional playoff standings heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
