WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Family Fair is back in full swing, bringing the fun, food, and 4-H that the Auglaize County Fair is known for.

The 2025 Auglaize County Fair officially opened Sunday, and organizers say this year’s event is shaping up to be another great one. Families can enjoy plenty of free entertainment and activities throughout the week, including a petting zoo, agricultural displays, and performances by the Queen City Stunt Circus, among others. Junior Fair participants are also ready to present their projects and show off the animals they’ve worked hard to raise.

4-H pride and family fun take center stage at the 173rd Auglaize County Fair

“The biggest thing is, we are probably one of the largest fairs in the state for livestock and 4-H, and we have like 600 head of hogs coming in this year. So that's probably more than a lot of fairs have all their animals. So yeah, that's a lot of it, and we believe in 4H and we try to get stuff, entertainment, and everything going on for the families. Ride band this year, we got them down to $10 for a day,” said Lawrence Kill, president of the Auglaize County Senior Fair Board.

“The Auglaize County Fair has been a staple in the community for 173 years, and it's our county fair. It's a community fair where people can meet and greet. I've got friends that I met when I was in 4H that I still look forward to running into him and seeing him this year at the fair, and every year at the fair,” said John Hesse, Auglaize County Fair manager.
