February 21, 2025, Press Release from the Wapakoneta Area Ministerial AssociationThe Wapakoneta Area Ministerial Association (WAMA) announces the schedule for its annual Wednesday Noon Lenten Services, which will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, West Pearl Street, Wapakoneta. The theme for the 2025 services is The Parables of Luke. Lunch and a time of fellowship will follow each half-hour service. The Noon Lenten services are free and open to the public; all are very welcome. Free will donations will be accepted for WAMA’s Voucher Program and for Servants Day.

Those attending the service may enter the church from the west (parking lot) entrance, north (Pearl Street) entrance, or east (Perry Street) entrance. Please note that the Blackhoof Street entrance into the parking lot will be closed because of construction at the Faith Center (historic school), and cars should access the parking lot from Benton Street, not Pearl Street.

Parable of the Fruitless Tree – Luke 13:1-9/St. John and St. Joseph Catholic churches

March 12:

Parable of the Traveler and the Samaritan – Luke 10:25-37/St. Mark’s Lutheran Church

March 19:

Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus – Luke 16:19-31/Wapakoneta YMCA, Buckland United Church of Christ & St. Patrick Catholic Church

March 26:

Two Parables on Prayer – Luke 18:1-14/St Paul United Church of Christ

April 2:

Parable of the Great Dinner – Luke 14:15-24/Salem United Methodist Church and friends

April 9:

The Lord’s Prayer and the Parable of the Midnight Knock – Luke 11:1—13/Otterbein-Cridersville and First English Lutheran Church

The Wapakoneta Area Ministerial Association has hosted the Noon Lenten Services and Lunches annually for nearly 60 years.

Officers of the Wapakoneta Area Ministerial Association are: Father Sean Wilson, president; Reverend Doug Pretorius, treasurer; and Rachel Barber, secretary.
