Ohio State University Lima will be adding a new bachelor's degree program to its list next year.
Beginning in the fall 2020 semester, OSU Lima students will officially be eligible for a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering technology. The college of engineering at the Ohio State University visited factories and plants around the state and did some extensive research to design an engineering degree that is focused on manufacturing. The degree will also prepare graduates for plant management roles.
OSU Lima is excited to bring this hands-on degree to their campus, as this degree is expected to help fill local high demand jobs, such as automation engineers, quality engineers, and process engineers.
""We want to fuel Ohio's manufacturing industry with highly skilled, highly talented workers, and this is a degree program that we feel like that'll help bridge that skills gap," said Bryan Albright, assistant dean of engagement.
This program will be offered at the Mansfield and Marion campuses next fall as well, and at the Newark campus in the fall of 2023.
