The Future Leaders Initiative will consist of three programs to encourage littles to make positive choices while developing attainable goals for their future. The scholar program will address the importance of school. The volunteer program will work to get them involved in supporting local organizations and giving back. The transitional program is for youth 16 and older to prepare them for graduation and life after high school.

"We really want to encourage children to make good choices. We know that truancy and absenteeism from school is an increasing thing, so we want to encourage our littles to go to school; that's part of the scholar program. Rewards that they can access for maintaining good school attendance, good grades, and making good choices," said Erin Boyer, community-based program coordinator.
Students will get rewards for participating in the programs, such as gift cards. If interested in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, contact Boyer at 419-222-8500. They are always in need of bigs, especially men.
