Calvary Chapel of Praise hosts annual Easter egg hunt

It is not quite Easter yet, but that did not stop people from getting in on the fun early.

The Calvary Chapel of Praise held their annual BIG Egg Hunt. Kids lined the field next to the church to fill up their baskets with as many of the 6,000 eggs as possible. Each egg contained a prize slip instead of candy, every kid went home with a bag of sweet treats as well. While the egg hunt was the highlight of the day, the church took time to recognize the real reason to celebrate the day in a short program before the hunt.

"We come here and we have a lot of fun, and we do the bunny hop and all but we want people to know the real reason," says Nicole Sweeney, Director of Childrens Programs at the church. "We're celebrating our savior, that he died and rose again for us. I'm so glad that the word gets out and that we're open to the whole entire community, and every year it seems to get bigger and bigger and that just makes my heart happy."

Before the egg hunt, the church raffled off a couple of gift baskets and four lucky kids went home with a bicycle.
