(WLIO) - Before the end of this year, Cenovus will fully own two refineries in the state of Ohio.
They announced Monday that they will be buying the other half of the Toledo refinery from BP. The Canadian based company has owned the other half since it combined with Husky Energy in 2021, they also took over the Lima refinery at that time too. The cost of the sale is over $300 million. Once it is finalized, the Lima and Toledo refineries will continue to operate separately, but the company sees long term potential to connect the Toledo refinery with their U.S. network.
