Chainsaw sculptures to be auctioned off

A daily demonstration at the fair will eventually help out the junior fair program.

Bear Hollow Carvers have been showing off their chainsaw skills every day with new sculptures carved from logs, and how to stay safe while carving.  All of the sculptures that are made will be available at the fair auction, with all of the money going right back to the fair. Those with Bear Hollow Carvers say that selling off the sculptures is a win for everyone involved.

"By being able to have the fair keep those and then to raise money, it's just kind of a it's a win-win - they can take the money to put towards 4-H or repairing buildings or saving it up for future entertainment for the fair, it's just a great way for entertainment to pay for itself," said Joe Stebbing, a chainsaw carver with Bear Hollow Carvers.

The sculptures as well as blown glass sculptures will be auctioned off on Saturday, August 26th.
