LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce is preparing to recognize outstanding businesses and individuals in the region. Their annual award gala, set for May 8th, will highlight the achievements of local leaders and businesses. Award sponsors have announced the three finalists for each of the seven different awards to be presented that evening.
In addition to longstanding awards like the Athena Award and Small Business of the Year, the chamber will present the Above and Beyond Award for the second year. This award honors businesses that have made a significant impact on the development of the area.
“So many folks in our community that really do so much work that you know, quite frankly, is behind the scenes and not forward facing. And so we like to recognize those businesses, those individuals, that go well above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that the Lima Allen County region is exemplary place to live, learn, worship and play for all. So we're so proud of all the folks that come together to make Lima and Allen County a better place, and we are really honored to help shine a light on those folks and to give them awards for their work that they're so deserving of,” says Josh Unterbrink, president and CEO of the Allen County Chamber of Commerce.
