A local grocery chain announcing a major investment in the Lima community, starting with a name change.
Starting Tuesday, the 3 remaining Rays stores are now Chief Supermarkets. President and CEO, Stephanie Skylar, also announcing a 3 million dollar renovation project, as the northland store will be getting a complete make over. Chief has been the parent company of Rays for many years and now was the time to make the change, not only for convenience, but for efficiency. Skylar says they have been working on the name change for sometime and she believes the customers will benefit with what they will now offer.
Skylar says the remodel should be done by early October and the store will remain open during the renovations. The other two Lima stores will also have some work done. Chief has 11 stores in the region including Delphos, Defiance, Celina, Coldwater and now Lima.
