Church hosts banquet for food pantry patrons

A local church opened its doors to the less fortunate, holding a special banquet.

The Lima Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Spencerville road hosted meal for people who have been frequent visitors at their food pantry.

The meal was organized by Jerry and Sandy Hunt who run the food pantry.

“A lot of people are struggling nowadays...and we just try to help out where we can, good community service that’s what we’re all about and today we also have our young people, our Pathfinders here and this is a good way for them to get some experiences as far as doing some volunteering and also doing some community service.” said Jerry Hunt.

Attendees were given an opportunity to get a free coat if they need it.
