You have heard it takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes a village to protect that child.
County commissioners are urging Allen County residents to become involved. In a proclamation they are asking all citizens, community agencies, faith groups, medical facilities, and businesses to increase their participation in efforts to support families, thereby preventing child abuse and strengthening the communities in which we live.
Thursday's proclamation was given to Allen County Children Services director Cyndi Scanland in observance of Child Abuse Awareness Month.
