The Lima City School, Ohio State, and NFL standout passed away last month after battling ALS since 2016. White would go on to play college football with the Buckeyes in the mid-'80s, then was drafted by the Detroit Lions. White played for the Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Atlanta Falcons. Even when he was diagnosed with ALS, White continued to be a fixture in the Lima area.

"And he was a great pioneer for our city, and for the whole state of Ohio," stated Derry Glenn, City of Lima 6th Ward Councilman. "You know he lived in Columbus but he came back here a lot of times, and did speeches, and motivate us on different things though and I appreciate it but I want everyone to come out and we will do it for like a couple of hours there and you have an opportunity to talk about William about what he means to you."

Glenn says people can come to Fresh and Faded at 227 South Main Street this Saturday at 11 o'clock say goodbye to White and reflect on what he did for Lima and our community.
