Demonta Rogers serving five years

One of the men charged with the death of 26-year-old Remeal Ingram is sentenced today at the Allen County Common Pleas Court.

24-year-old Demonta Rogers will be serving a total of five years in prison for a charge of involuntary manslaughter with a gun specification. Rogers pleaded guilty to his charge over killing Ingram last year outside the former G-Spot Bar. The incident started over a fight inside the bar but then escalated to the bar's parking lot. Rogers, along with 25-year-old Jontez White pulled out guns and fired shots at Ingram.

Ingram died from his injuries and White still remains on the run. Before being sentenced, Rogers made a statement directly to the victim's family, his family and the judge.

"Sorry for the family lost and I pray that God gives peace and closure and I also hope that y'all can find it in your heart to please forgive me. I never meant for none of this to happen and if I could I would take it all back and I'm standing here today begging for your forgiveness and I'm sorry that y'all had to go through such a tragic. And once again, I'm very sorry," said Rogers.

Rogers will be on three-year supervision after he's released from prison.
