Early voting begins for November 7th general election

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Early voting has begun for the November 7th general election.

Early voting begins for November 7th general election

The Allen County Board of Elections is open for in-person early voting on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the 27th, with extended hours on the week before the election. Those who wish to vote by mail must register request forms by October 31st, and all mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Monday, November 6th. With two important state issues and the local races, election officials in Allen County expect a higher turnout for an off-year election. This comes off the heels of a rare August primary that brought in more than three million votes across Ohio.

"That state issue brought out a lot of people, and we did have to send more ballots out to the polls. But I think the women's health issue, issue 1, and the cannabis issue 2 will bring out voters," said Kathy Meyer, director of Allen County Board of Elections.

As a reminder, there will be no in-person voting on the day prior to the November 7th election.
