LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The City of Lima has started its fall leaf pick-up program.
We caught up with crews on Wendell Avenue making quick work of the pick-up. They are now focusing on the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th Wards. They ask residents to rake leaves to the tree lawn only. Crews will get the leaves from there into the street as they come through and pick them up. They ask that no rocks, branches, or trash be in the leaves as it can damage their equipment. They are also asking that vehicles not be parked on the roadway.
"Keep your cars off the street if you have any leaves nearby. That way we can get our equipment through. It makes it a lot easier, because if you park your car next to your leaf pile we won't be able to get to it," asked Eric Beebe, Lima streets supervisor.
The city will be posting updates on their progress and when the 7th and 8th Wards should rake leaves to the tree lawn on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CityofLimaOH.
